My journey started in April 2025 when I purchased my first camera, the Minolta X-700. There was definitely a learning curve, but as I continued to shoot, it became second nature. Eventually, through research and time spent in the hobby, I discovered the Minolta a-9, one of the last great cameras of the film era. As you can probably tell, I’m quite the Minolta enthusiast, and I believe the company was ahead of its time in film photography.
Listed below are the two cameras that have been part of my journey. While my X-700 is currently out of service, I hope to add another one to my collection in the future and build it into my ideal professional setup. You’ll also find the lenses I use with the a-9, giving me the flexibility to shoot a wide variety of subjects.
Lastly, I’ve included two sample images:
- The Mitsubishi was photographed with the a-9
- The two formula cars were photographed with the X-700
Currently, all of the film photographs you see on my page—and all future film work—are captured using the Minolta a-9.
